Universal Studios

How intense are these rides. My guess they just move around and things/attractions come at you to make it seem real. Anyway I know IOA are the more ride traditional it seems. And with Universal and IOA are there extra fees besides the 85.00 you pay. Like are some rides off limits unless paying additional.

IMHO,

Universal does not have any intense rides like IOA, and I would agree with your ascertion that things come to you except, The Mummy, it is fairly intense and MIB gives you a bit of a spin.

We find Jaws at night realy atmospheric and enjoy the park as a lazy stoll, though we go in in the early evening during the week when things get quiet.

Extras to pay are nothing unless you want to skip the queues. You can buy Express passes but, their value depends on when you are going. If you are going at a busy holiday time, they are worth every penny and if time is tight, get them for both parks for the one day. Feasable but tiring and you will not enjoy the whole atmosphere.

If you are staying on site, your room key acts as an Express Pass and if you deduct the number of passes you buy from the overall room rate, it may make it less expnsive to stay on site. We stayed two nights at the Portofino Bay, for $480. We have annual passes so we did not have this expense, but Express passes for the 3 days would have cost $480 ($40 per day for 4, but the price varies depending on holiday periods).

Thanks for the advice. We plan on staying at the Rodeway International. I read that is close enough but I dont think its there pick for automatic passes. And we are going dec. 27-30 this is after xmas so is this time busy enough for the pass or not. My bet its after xams so it should be since schools are on winter break so many people might have the idea of going away. So this I am really debating on. But I also read somewhere somebody said it was pretty quiet after xmas but busy before and during so I dont know.
