Blizzard Beach - Rubbish!

Just got back from a very disappointing time at Blizzard Beach, in fact we thought it was so bad we are considering complaining!

Got there for a few mins after 9, and the queue to get in was plain silly, with a few of the entries closed.

Found somewhere to sit in an exceptionally overcrowded %26#39;beach%26#39; area where the beds are packed so tightly together you had to climb over them to get anywhere.

Went to join a queue to get up to the %26#39;green slopes%26#39; which took as long as you could expect, then the queues for the 2 main slides were ridiculous and very badly signed, got in the queue for the family raft and had a great ride.

Then walked around to the %26#39;purple slopes%26#39; for the other rides our smallest could also do, and what can I say but bedlam!! The bottom of the raft ride on the %26#39;red slope%26#39; was chock full of people where the considerate tour leaders had decided to stop to do a head count, the pick up for the rafts was so disorganised that the one attendant just couldn%26#39;t control it, and we only just managed to herd our family through without my 6 yr old being trampled. Then went round to the purple slopes and found just 1 staircase for all 3 rides, with peeling paint on the steps telling you which side you should be on, which we only noticed at all as someone more seasoned asked us which side we were queuing, at that point we thought it was just 1 queue.

All the way up the stairs there were people pushing past or saying that hadn%26#39;t got a clue if they were going in the right direction. Managed to make it to a cut off point, and we lost 1 half of the queue, but then the steps continued as 1 queue for 2 rides!! Just plain stupid.

Got to the toboggan ride and did thoroughly enjoy it, but certainly wasn%26#39;t prepared to do that again!

Overall we thought the park was overcrowded, it didn%26#39;t appear to have any of the Disney ethos, and just seemed to be one big selling campaign, as well as the fact we thought it was dirty and all of the staff were as miserable as anything.

Had we not been to Typhoon Lagoon (which we thought was great) first I don%26#39;t think we would have gone based on impression of Blizzard Beach.

Newest water park it may be, but I would stick with Tyhoon anyday!

Blizzard Beach - Rubbish!

Really sorry you didn%26#39;t have a good time.

I haven%26#39;t been to their waterparks, and I don%26#39;t think they really interest me. I%26#39;m happy to just use the hotel pools usually.

Blizzard Beach - Rubbish!

Even though we thought about going to a waterpark, we did not when we were there. Sorry you had a bad time, though. Typhoon lagoon does sound like the best of the two.

Went to BB last year for the 1st time, as its normally closed the time of year we go. Wasn%26#39;t impressed at all.

What you said about the organisation of the rides was so true. We want to go on one of the slides (cant remember which one) but never found the entrance, it was really frustrating.

Going to Orlando again this year but giving BB a miss, will stick to TL, much much better.

would definitely advise anyone to stick with Typhoon Lagoon - it was great fun, and we are considering going back on our free day.

Absolutely agree - BB - didn%26#39;t like it much at all. TL loved it %26amp; would definately go again.

I agree we didn%26#39;t like it either all the kids weren%26#39;t impressed at all and I was mad I paid all that money for that waterpark we will stick with TL

For people reading this, on days TL can be just as crowded as BB so don%26#39;t get the idea that if you go to TL your going to get on everything quickly.

Tprpsp - i think you misunderstand me. TL was in no way quiet, but so much better organised that getting on the rides was an easier affair. The only reason we got on so quickly was because we did all of them first thing. When the queues got up to 30 mins plus we chilled. The other reason TL is better than BB was the amount of space you had around you. BB had beds in rows with only about half a meter in between in row if you were lucky, whereas TL had beds nicely spaced with loads of room in between.

My mistake.

Totally agree with you. I thought BB was absoloutly crap! I had to wait an eternity for a short 2 second ride! the beds were ridiculously close. Would not go back - like you I thought that TL was by far a lot better.
