Duval Beach Club

Never really spent any time there. Is it worth the $5 for the chair?

Duval Beach Club

Not at this moment... Slanting rain coming in off the Atlantic side. Winds holwing around 25 kts, gusting to 35. A nasty evening on the beach.... Oh! You meant on a nice day?? Probably. :-)

You can tell that Fall is just around the corner... The breeze is back.

Duval Beach Club

Didn%26#39;t it change name to Southernmost Beach Club or is that a different place? Not that it really matters.

Yes mabber. Southernmost bought the property and changed the name. Hopefully they will fix it up and bring it to the same standards as their hotels. I%26#39;m not wild about the beach there. Fort Zachary Taylor State Park is far better.

Seabus-- I%26#39;ll take your slanting rain with gusts of 25-25 mph and trade you for lows expected in the 40s tonight with winds of 30 mph gusts expected fpr 40-50:-)

Think I%26#39;ll stick with Ft Zach then, sounds like it%26#39;s the better way to go. Didn%26#39;t realize the name changed to Southernmost...see, this is why I need another trip since it%26#39;s been a couple years

Was just there Wednesday. Surprised that the clientel seemed to change with the new name. Sunny at mid-day and plenty of empty chairs. Maybe I just hit an off day, but very little English was being spoken.

Seems everything blew through. Mild night in the low 80%26#39;s.

As for the change in clientele... Key West is enjoying a seemingly large group of visitors from the U.K. and Germany. Must be holiday time there. Love to see %26#39;em. Hope they tip. :-)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Germans don%26#39;t know how to tip. And when they do, it%26#39;s minimal at best. They don%26#39;t tip over in Germany so they don%26#39;t have the mental guidelines we expect here in the U.S. I can%26#39;t tell you how many times I was stiffed by Germans when I waited tables up in Ft. Myers and on some really big checks too (once got ZERO on a $150 bill)

I%26#39;ve said this before.

When Yanks go to Europe, it is well known that tipping is minimal there. I am 100% certain that with the information highway and all, that the info goes both directions and that any European is well aware of the practice of tipping in the states.

That being said, Europeans who don%26#39;t tip are not unaware, they are just cheap.
