wedding place at Sanibel?

I am planning my wedding on Sanibel in November. Anyone can recommend a resort or hotel that is nice but not too overpriced?

wedding place at Sanibel?

Take a look at West Wind Inn. They seem to get high marks for weddings and so long as it isn%26#39;t Thanksgiving week you should be able to get a good rate on the rooms.

If it%26#39;s early Nov, you could try Island Inn, a bit more old-fashioned and beachy. They start their season rates well ahead of most, mid-November, and then the rates really climb

Rainstorm, Sue and Sanibelbride should have some good info and suggestions.

wedding place at Sanibel?

We are looking for a place in Feb. How is the Blue Dolphin? We called casa ybel but they service seemed rude. Suggestions for a nice beach weeding for 20???

Judybrit, Sanibelbride, Rainstorm, Sue - any help here? I know Patrica Slater has been recommended as a planner, anything to offer beyond Casa Ybel? Thanks.

PS - i suggested West Wind as Blue Dolphin is kind of bare bones basic, though a good buy.

Waterside Inn also gets weddings - the owner can officiate. (is that spelled right??) They are more downscale from Casa Ybel - more basic, beachy - but is a beautiful location.

I actually would highly suggest staying away from both patricia slater AND Casa Ybel. My wedding was originally going to be there and after a lot of frustration and headaches...I decided to lose my deposit and go elsewhere.

I know of people who have gotten married at Sanibel Inn and really liked it. Good luck!

Tween Waters (Old Captiva House) is a big favorite –The restaurant is beautiful - Old Florida ambiance. You can get married on the beach (at Sunset) .I have a friend that got married here and was very satisfied.

.

I have another friend that used West Wind Inn and it was great as well . They do have a restaurant and will help with planning. Lots of info on their website. http://www.westwindinn.com/

Waterside Inn is a good choice as well – this would probably be the most economical. No restaurant here but rooms are inexpensive in November and the grounds are pretty.

You can get married on the beach and have your dinner at one of the local restaurants. Just let them know about your special occasion and they can give you a more private space to celebrate. Traders, Beachview, Old Captiva House, Sanibel Steakhouse, Thistle Lodge or Dolce Vita.

Entertainment and dancing there anyway (Dolce) – Why not take advantage of it?

Jacaranda can be a really fun place for your party as well.

www.cuisine-scene.com can give you information on Sanibel and Captiva restaurants

My sources agree with Masson%26#39;s being the best in wedding cakes and I have heard that Publix makes a wonderful wedding cake for a lot less $$$.

Flowers ---- Floral Artistry of Sanibel 239 472 3040 (she is extremely helpful and a wealth of information.)

If you need help with accommodations try www.viprental.com

There are many private homes on the beach or bay available on Captiva that would be perfect for a very private wedding.

That is what we did for my daughter%26#39;s wedding and we used Pat Slater, who did a fantastic job of organising everything for the ceremony on the beach including photographer, limousine, hairdresser and make-up for bride and matron of honour. Pat also organised everything for the best man and matron of honour%26#39;s wedding, which took place on the beach the year before my daughter%26#39;s. I cannot recommend any resort or hotel as it was not something that we considered, but can highly recommend the Sanibel Steakhouse for a meal afterwards.

If you%26#39;d like to have something special - an edible favor - for your guests, consider Norman Love Confections. Awesome chocolate. Some of the best in the world.

We are getting married in October at the Sundial Resort...I think it%26#39;s a slightly less expensive option than Casa Ybel though still not cheap. (and ditto, we weren%26#39;t welcomed warmly by the coordinator when we did a site visit at Casa. They do a lot of weddings and she was very busy and impersonable-even though the site was gorgeous). We briefly looked at Tween waters, but the brightly colored houses weren%26#39;t my style, and the pricing was so weird on their list, I found them hard to compare with the other options, so I gave up on Tween. I know one of the girls on the knot website got married at West Wind Inn and had her reception at Ellingtons, and loved it. Also saved her some $, because as the previous post said, they already have free entertainement. Another girl is getting married at the Chapel by The Sea, which looks super cute, and I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s too expensive there. Sundial has been great to work with so far-but like I said, we%26#39;re still probably on the overpriced side. The coordinator there is great though.

We are using Floral Artistry for flowers, a DJ from Danny Morgan, Publix for cake, AMC video for videography, and Impressions for photography (though I highly recommend Jason Angelini for photography if he is available--he has cheaper packages and does some amazing work, and even with his travel fee, he is still cheaper than most of the photographers around Sanibel.) Hope this helps. If you haven%26#39;t already, come over to the website ';The Knot';. There are a lot of girls getting married in the area that are extremely helpful.
