We are staying on Captiva over New Year%26#39;s with our two teens. What should we do NYE? Where should we go to dinner? Anyone know of any NYE specials? We are pretty casual but appreciate great food!
What should we do New Year's Eve?
Great food on Sanibel and Captiva is limited. Mad Hatter [tiny beach house, upscale classic food], Old Captiva House [menu is online on the Tween Waters site], Sunset Grill [bistro style] and possibly Red Fish Blue Fish [tapas style] would probably be the top of the picks. None are fussy.
Next would be Trader%26#39;s, Thistle Lodge at Casa Ybel, and maybe Dolce Vita. Ellington%26#39;s and Jacaranda have good live music, but I%26#39;d be inclined to eat elsewhere. Since Ellington%26#39;s is part of Sanibel Inn you may find it hard to get into.
Call around and ask and MAKE RESERVATIONS.
Anyone else? Keep this near the top. Mysanibelcondo is on island now and should know the latest ads for NYE activities.
What should we do New Year's Eve?
Dolce Vita is my favorite. Sort of an old fashioned Italian-American place with good food and service. There is usually a piano player/singer. It is owned by a nice Italian man. Nice place.
Don%26#39;t go next door to Matzaluna.
