Fort Wilderness campground

Does anyone know how far in advance you can book a site at Fort Wilderness Campground in Walt Disney World Resort?

Does anyone have any suggestions about a particularly good or bad time to visit?

Thanks!

Good times of the year to visit Disney would be Jan - mid Feb, March - May ( except for the very busy Easter week ) Sept. - Nov. My picks for staying at the FT. Wilderness Campground would be May or Sept. The Weather is lovely and the crowd levels are low.

Check out dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and you can fill out a request a quote form ( Free ) to get an idea of costs and availability for any of those times.

The Camp Grounds are really nice and offer a nice quiet retreat from your days at the Parks. Check out allearsnet.com/acc/faq_fw.htm for lots more info

WE have stayed at Fort Wilderness every year for the last 7 years. We stay in our Rv. We have been in October (1st and 2nd week), December (1st week), and Feb. (1st week). Our favorite time by far is October. The weather is beautiful, water parks are open. Crowds are moderate to low. Very little rain. Don%26#39;t miss watching the electric water pagent from the beach every night around 9:45. Wagon rides (I believe they have one that is haunted in october), carriage rides, the nightly (free) campfire with Chip and dale, complete with smores roasting and an outsoor disney movie. There is a great jogging trail to Wilderness lodge. Transport to MK is very easy by boat, The Trails End is an excellent buffet. You can rent bikes, golf carts, canoes, and boats. There is also horseback riding, a petting zoo, and pony rides for the kids. The dinner show at Pioneer Hall, the Hoop de doo revue is wonderful, and Mickey%26#39;s BackYard BBQ is fun for a character meal. We camp all over the US and this is the best campground we have ever stayed in. I know you can make reservations a year in advance, and the campground does fill up. We always book through Disney directly. If you are camping ina travel trailer then request the 500 loop, it is the closest to the transportation, beach, and boat docks. Oh- the bath houses are very clean and beautifully decorated. I would vote for October, but the weather was lovely the first week of December as well, a little too cold for awimming in our opinion, and the crowds were definitely higher. We did not enjoy the Feb. trip we took as much because it happened to be during a very cold spell for Orlando, 40s during the day some of the days, it was just a little too chilly for the outdoor activities we enjoy (we are from louisiana). Whenever you decide to go, it is a wonderful place to stay on property.
