What kind of weather can we expect

going the first week of May next year? We usually go late May early June, but were going to make it the first week of May next time.

My daughter went one time around April 25th and said it was too cold to swim.

I understand no one can guatentee or predict the weather, but on average what would I expect at that time?

Thanks

The good thing is you have less worries about the infamous June Grass at the beginning of May. Water will be chilly, but weather pleasant.

We%26#39;ve been going down the first week of May, for the past 4-5 yrs %26amp; have had GREAT luck with the weather :-) sunny %26amp; warm!!! Plus fewer people around :-)

We went that week 1 year. It was pretty warm in the afternoons. You could get in the water a little mostly to your knees or so. Bring long sleeves or a jacket for at night. I see you are from Ohio so the weather we probably seem warm compared to what you are used to that time of year.

Air temperatures will be great in early May. According to this official NOAA site for water temperatures, the water temperature for Pensacola averages 71 degrees in April and 78 in May, so I%26#39;d guess the water temp in early May would be around 75:

For someone from Ohio, that should be refreshingly swimable.

We went in early May a couple of years ago. The air temperatures were great and pool swimming was very enjoyable, but the gulf was chilly. I got in it, but it took a while to get used to it.

The trade off was a crowd-free vacation. That was our favorite time to go....until we went in September last year.
