Coconut Mallory Resort

Meeting the parents in Key West soon. They booked last minute @ The Coconut Mallory thur Interval. They%26#39;ve never stayed there before %26amp; usually don%26#39;t stay in that area. The reviews are really mixed. However, it is free for them %26amp; free for us. Hopefully, won%26#39;t be too bad. Thoughts anyone???

The big drawback, and maybe you realize this when you say they don%26#39;t usually stay in that area, is that at 1445 S. Roosevelt Blvd is not within walking distance of Old Towm, Duval Street, The Mallory Docks, etc. Without some form of transportation there is not much to do in that area.

Check out this site: tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g34345-d224513-鈥?/a> The last few reviews have been OK and the pictures look OK. For free in KW i%26#39;d give it a shot.

We%26#39;ll have a car, so we%26#39;ll be able to get to everything. We%26#39;re just hoping it%26#39;s clean. Not really concerned about the decor, etc. Don%26#39;t plan on spending much time inside.

If you get a chance one morning drive or bike or walk clock-wise around the island. This takes you along a sidewalk across from the airport and on the edge of the ocean. You will come to Smathers Beach within a mile and it is very nice. If you are there around 8:00 a.m., you will see the Seaplanes of Key West heading out to the Tortugas. This road goes into Bertha Avenue where you make a right then a left onto Atlantic Blvd which then runs past Higgs Beach.

Along Higgs you can look at the West Martello Tower and ride or walk out onto the White Street Pier where you might see a cruise ship coming in. Continue on to the Casa Marina and make a right onto Reynolds then a left onto Seminole Street to a very small park with a great view of the ocean. (The John %26amp; Mary something-or-other Park)

Finally, from Seminole look for Vernon which runs into South Street. A left onto South Street will take you to Simonton, Duval, and finally Whitehead and the Southernmost Point. Then it%26#39;s 16 blocks to the Mallory Docks.
