mini trip report

got here saturday. stayed at cypress house three nights. if you stay there DO NOT LEAVE THE WINDOWS OR DOORS TO THE VERANDAH OPEN!!! you will not sleep. turn on the air and shut it down tight. noisy corner. otherwise great location, great staff, good enough breakfast, very nice happy hour, great pets.

did not do a lot, hung out, met some friends, had some food at conch republic, some at guy harvey%26#39;s while watcing football game. guy harveys is a sports bar - don%26#39;t mistake it for anything else. nice one though. sunday - mel fischer museum, (wife%26#39;s adhd set in) nice layout, but mildly boring if you don%26#39;t like to read a lot. them to louie%26#39;s for sunday brunch-lunch. good stuff, then to their beach bar for drinks. great mohito (as if i know what great is), then to a spot for some wine, met freinds, then off to A%26amp;B Lobster House for crabcakes and lobster bisque. plenty.

monday - rent bikes, butterfly conservatory, great spot. very zen. then a drink at southernmost, then to salute for lunch, (entertaining), then more wine at a bar on the way home. met friends for drinks, then michaels for fondue and more wine. enough.

tuesday (today) met up with lloyd for a bike tour. highly recommended - he is a genuinely cool human being. then to santiago%26#39;s bodega for tapas. the seared beef tenderloin is to die for. other goodies too. out of the way, but neat place. then we moved to ocean key. construction is still an issue. but only on the ocean front rooms. too bad. but it helps with the rates.

A great mojito is just like any other great drink.

Oh boy is that right! They are fantastic and go great with the Mahi Mahi melt sandwich

Mrs Mo downed 6 of those one evening last week and handled them amazingly well! Tim may recall that event!

tuesday night - alice%26#39;s - great.. - wife had meatloaf (was superb) oh well, wednesday breakfast at hot tin roof, no real lunch, then islescapes for dinner. awesome!!!! thursday, sarabeths lunch, room service dinner, friday - square one breakfast. nothing has been bad. hightly recommend a parasail trip and the pelican poop shop. stay away from the littlest bar on duval. damn drinks will kill ya. (especially the one they serve in a coconut).

Since ohbo has arrived on our quiet litle island, our livers have been on full alert, defcon 5, Emergency over-ride... Our next-of-kin have been notified of a potential death in the family... So far, so good. Unfortunately, ohbo and the lovely Mrs. ohbo (Yes, he%26#39;s married and obviously, to a saint) will be departing for places north tomorrow morning. We will be so sad to see them go. A new friend as well as the starting of a full paper in the AMA Journal.
