Sterling Sands condos Destin Fla.

Has anybody stayed at the Sterling Sands complex? Any pros, cons ?? Hows the beach area there? Thanks for your help !!!!

The beach there is nice and wide. There is an oceanfront pool, hot tub and snack patio. An underground parking garage is included with some of the condo rentals. SS is near restaurants, grocery stores, shops, water park ... but not all necessarily within walking distance. The entrance is off a busy street, and it%26#39;s not really a very good walking area (other than on the beach) because the sidewalk is immediately next to the street, with no grassy barrier. We stayed there and enjoyed the building, but not the area as much as Crystal Beach and Miramar Beach.

We stayed at Sterling Sands on and off since the property was built, but haven%26#39;t been back for the past few years as things were starting to show wear and tear (both the units and grounds). The views are great ... right on the beach with the plexiglass railings on the balconies to maximize what you see. The pool is nice too ... right off the beach. I know there was another post about the beach being nice and wide and I guess it depends upon your frame of reference. Been going to Destin for 30 years and so there%26#39;s a lot less sand than there was when I was a kid and I don%26#39;t think the renourishment has made it this far west yet (at least as of mid-October). Also, they have two different 2-bedroom floorplans -- the small one has the master on the Highway 98 side and a narrower balcony while the bigger one has a much wider balcony that opens to the master.
