Mgm

Morning!

We are going to MGM on the 23rd and will be getting a taxi there.

As I dont want to have to pay for the taxi to get into the car park which hotel/area would be the best place to be dropped?

Also know we have to get there early as its busy etc but also need to buy a one day ticket - what time would you knowledgable people suggest we get to the gates?

Many thanks

The closest Resorts would be the Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin. You can then take a boat ( less hassle IMO then taking a bus ) over to MGM. I would get to one of the Resorts by at least 8am, MGM opens at 9am on the 23rd.

Penny wise, pound foolish. Pay the ten bucks! It just adds more time to your day if you need to transfer from one of the hotels Pa mentioned. Or just have the cab drop you before the toll gate. You should be ready to purchase tickets about one half hour before opening.

Bostontom I too thought maybe I should just pay the money but thought Id ask just incase!

Will probably pay and have one less thing to worry about!

Maybe someone else can verify, but I%26#39;m pretty sure you don%26#39;t pay to park a cab. They just drop you off and go on about their business, literally. We have taken a cab to an early breakfast reservation at Animal Kingdom Park and I do not recall having to pay any parking fee; just the cab fare which was very reasonable!

I also believe that cabs don%26#39;t pay for the parking

Get to the gate at least 45 minutes before the park opens if you need to buy tickets

Thanks for the informative assistance (yet again!)

Not only do they not have to pay, but I believe they have a special entrance. At least a cab run by Meers transportation. The last time I was there, Meers transportation was the service mostly used by Disney. Usually by the end of my trip I am tired of the buses and start taking cabs from the hotel to the park.

Being left at an Epcot Hotel is a good idea. The Swan/Dolphin would be the closest. You can walk over to MGM and it is very pretty.

If you go to The Beach Club, they have a really good character breakfast. Miney, Goofey, Chip and Dale. In the same hotel was/is Beaches and Cream. Less money and great food. It is a ten minute walk from here to the park.

I am always one to get to the park when it opens. Look for the Prime Time Cafe to have lunch.

Thanks, have Meers on my list for transport.

We are already booked in the Prime Time Cafe for a dinner reservation at 19.30.............not long now!!

Someone said that you can get dropped off @ swan and dolphin and get the boat in - do you have to stay there to do that or can you just hop on it for the trip?

Glad to hear you are going to the Prime Time Cafe. This is a riot to have to have lunch ot dinner. The Pot Roast is pretty good. Let me know how you make out. MGM is my favorite place. On the way up to Tower of Terror, there is a place on the left which serves awesome Turkey legs.

You do not need to be a guest to Walk thru the Swan or any of the hotels. I would skip the boat unless you see it right there at the dock. Even then it could be going in the opposite direction of MGM. When you exit to the water, cross over and go to the right. There is a path way which will take you to to MGM. This is a ten minute walk. This is a pretty area and you may want to walk around the Boardwalk before or after MGM.
