HELP with stuff to do 12/1 - 12/8

My wife and I will be staying on Fort Myers Beach from Dec 1 thru 8. Can anyone recommend any events or entertainment that is going on during this period. We are in our mid 50%26#39;s. Thanks! Appreciate it!!

Hi Grif. I am new to this forum but would like to help if you are still checking for answers. Since by now you are here on the island you will have found that the majority of the things to do involve getting out and enjoying the wonderful environment and weather. There are also many entertainment venues - check out the Florida Rep Theatre and Barbara B. Mann Performance Center. There are no scheduled festivals on FMB during your stay, but likely are several holiday-type performances aournd the area. Check with the Chambers of Commerce and convention/visitors%26#39; bureaus for Ft. Myers, FMB, Sanibel/Captiva, and Naples.

There are lots of fun dining choices on the Beach: SOB, Matanzas, Gulf Shore Grill/the Cottage. The best pizza is at Orpheus. Good Italian at Micheli%26#39;s. Grab a cocktail and watch sunset atop Lani Kai. Tons of locations on and around the beach have live entertainment, information about which can be found in our three free weekly papers. Finer dining can be had at South Beach Grill in Santini Plaza. Local favorites Bonita Bill%26#39;s and Maria%26#39;s Smokehouse are fun casual spots.

From the beach you can take the Key West Express and spend one day in Key West. You can go out on the Big M Casino Ship in the evenings. There is even a pirate ship docked over at Salty Sam%26#39;s Marina which offers cruises. Salty Sam%26#39;s has an excellent environmental cruise. Likewise, the water sport rental kiosks all up and down the beach have back bay ski-doo tours, where you can get up close to dolphins and explore a couple of uninhabited islands.

Thanks for your ideas. We enjoyed our stay. Loved dinner at Parrot Key. Went down to Naples and took in Greg Norman%26#39;s golf tournament. Weather was great. Lots of growth in FM and FMB since we were there last a few years ago.
