New Year's Eve on Captiva?

Is there anything fun happening on Captiva for New Year%26#39;s Eve? I saw something about possible fireworks on the beach? Is there a fun bar w/ something going on?

New Year's Eve on Captiva?

I don%26#39;t know if South Seas will be doing fireworks or not. There is a noise ordinance that stops outside entertainment at 10PM to 11PM - but perhaps there%26#39;s an exception for New Year%26#39;s. Check out Crow%26#39;s Nest at Tween Water%26#39;s or any of the spots along Andy Rosse Lane, like RC Otter%26#39;s, Key Lime Bistro or Mucky Duck. South Seas is open only to guests of the resort.

New Year's Eve on Captiva?

Great! I%26#39;m happy to hear that maybe the Crow%26#39;s Nest will be a fun venue since we%26#39;re staying at the TWI. Another question: do any of the restaurants operate a shuttle to get to them? (some places will send a car for you). And what is the taxi situation on the island? Also--we will have my 2 teenage boys with us (15 %26amp; 16)--anything fun to do on the island that they should not miss??? (Sorry! I have so many questions!!!)

Hey genalisa!

We%26#39;ll be on Captiva NYE as well and are researching what%26#39;s going on. We have 2 teens with us and are hoping to find someplace they can hang with us. I%26#39;ll keep an eye on this thread.

None of the restaurants have shuttle service and the restaurants on Captiva are a mile away in the village. It really is best to rent a car when staying on Captiva. You can rent mopeds at Yolo for a day or two if you won%26#39;t be going far. Golf carts are not permitted on the roads at night and and only allowed on Captiva in the village area, so you can%26#39;t go to and from Sanibel in them.

Old Captiva House in TWI is the best restaurant on Captiva. The next one I%26#39;d recommend is about 2 miles south at Blind Pass where Sanibel and Captiva meet - Sunset Grill.

For action NYE, try the village area, that%26#39;s all there is and you%26#39;ll need to walk or drive. I just got home from Sanibel and Captiva mid-Nov and they were beginning to advertise NYE in various restaurants - so MAKE RESERVATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Jacaranda and Ellington%26#39;s on Sanibel are two favorites. Dolce Vita is gaining a good rep for entertainment too. Lots of %26#39;islandy%26#39; sound [Jimmy Buffett style] is what you%26#39;ll get on Captiva. Sometimes TWI has live music, so I%26#39;d start by calling them to see if they have entertainment booked in for that night.
