hotels by epcot

going to DW from FRi - Mon in late january. our concentration will be on Epcot. Any suggetions o hotels that won%26#39;t break the bank? Is it worth renting a car or is it easier to use disney transportation. Also, is it worth getting the disney packagesa with tickets as we will only be in the parks saturday and sunday

The Caribbean Beach Resort is very close..It is a moderate price hotel and is nice...just a few moments from EPCOT by bus....We have never rented a car ! With you only being there a few days you will be spending most of your time at the parks..and the transportation is all included in you price...why spend more $...when the transportation is there at you becken%26#39; call !! Not really sure what you should do or not to do, about getting a package ....

Disney Chicks

check the Swan and Dolphin websites;they often have bargains. The Boardwalk ,Yacht and Beach Club are also within walking distance of Epcot. I would get the Disney package if you can get a good price since you will only have two days and staying at a Disney resort will get you the Extra Magic Hours. Defintely rent a car if you stay anywhere but one of the Epcot resort hotels,the Disney transportation is not great. I took the boat from MGM to Epcot last week and it took 90 minutes.

We stayed at the Port Orleans which is a moderate resort. We did not have a car and Disney transport got us everywhere. Plus from Port Orleans area there is a boat that takes you to Downtown Disney for more shopping and dining options! The shuttle from our hotel to Epcot took at most 15 minutes. I would get the length of stay tickets, you may want to visit somewhere on Friday!

Go to www.disneyworld.com and check different packages.

Yatch and Beach club are great as well as the Swan and Dolphin. You cannot bet the location.

When going from Epcot to MGM, avoid the boat. You can walk this. I think it is 20 minutes tops. Sitting by the pool at The Beach club at night is a very relaxing thing to do. There is also a smaller pool by the laundry room.

With your concentration on Epcot, I would stay at the Beach Club. You walk out the back entrance and you are minutes in the park. It is very nice at night to be able to do this and avoid the bus. The bus can take a long time.
