Staying at Caribbean Beach - buy groceries???

We are staying at Disney from 12/11-12/16. We have a frig in our room so we thought we might buy some groceries to keep it stocked during our stay. Any recommendations on a nearby grocery store? We%26#39;re not renting a car, just planning on using the shuttle service.

It has been a while since I was there but here are my thoughts.

There is nowhere easily accessible without using non-Disney transport which would defeat the purpose of going off site to buy the groceries. There is a shop at the Hotel and it is not overly expensive and I would recommend you buy the souvenir mugs for refills if you will be around the resort enough to use it. Otherwise I would say packs some snacks and if buying groceries is for convenience rather than cost then perhaps you should consider taking the bus to Downtown Disney and going to the gas station near there as I don%26#39;t think there is anywhere else that you could buy bottled/canned drinks apart from a taxi ride from the hotel or Downtown Disney.

If you are planning any other non Disney activity and taking a taxi then you could combine a stop at a grocery outlet.

There is a supermarket at the Crossroads at Lake Buena Vista and that would be the closest one that I am aware of to a Disney Property.

There aren%26#39;t any Disney Transportation Options for leaving Disney Property.

That being said, your options would be to go to DTD and walk across the Street to the Hess Express Gas Station. We have never found this to be an easy task but it can be done. You can call a Taxi but you will give up abit of time and $.

There are options for Snack items at Caribbean Beach ( have stayed there many times and love it ) The Food Court, Old Port Royale and the Gift Shop, Calypso Trading Post both have food items and drinks that you can '; stock'; the Fridge with. All the Resorts have these options. Very close and convenient.

You can also have groceries delived by

Just an FYI, the Fridge is an apartment size.

Enjoy your Holiday :)

The last time we stayed at C B R , we had a car and I drove past Downtown Disney and found a supermarket . If you intend to buy alot of food it might be worthwhile taking a taxi there .

Just be advised that the fridge is small so stocking up on food is probably not worth the time or effort.

Goodings at the Crossroads is easily available-take the bus to Downtown Disney and then walk(about 3/4 mile) or cab it to SR535 and you%26#39;ll find the Crossroads. The Hess STation across from the entrance to Downtown Disney has a fiarly good assortment of snacks and beverages though not much in the way of groceries. Goodings is excellent and open 24/7

Hi Jenn:

I agree with the Hess station. Goodings is a good 2 mile walk from where the bus from your resort to Downtown leaves you.

Also, because you are at the Caribbean Beach, there is a Hess within walking distance (at the Boardwalk).

Actually Goodings is exactly 9/10 of a mile from the bus stop, I just measured it-and if you want groceries, they have everything and the Hess station is more of a bottled water and potato chips place. Depends on what you need.
