Hotels on south beach in miami

My girlfriend and I are looking for a hotel on south beach that has a pool and is on the beach. The Raleigh, Loews and the Tides look nice, but not sure which one to go with. Any suggestions or other choices you would recommend? I think the Tides is across the street from the beach and most of the hotels seem far from the ocean everthough they list it as beachfront. Thanks!

I am confused by your message. Raleigh and Loews are beachfront. You walk out the ';back'; door through the pool area and onto the sand. The Tides is on the west side of Ocean Drive, renovation still might be underway. You cross the street, walk through Lummus Park and then on to the sand. What is ';far'; and how close do you need to be? A beachfront hotel fronts on the beach.

I would read the reviews here on TripAdvisor, playing particular attention to the last ten or so within the last few months. Personnel, maintenance and service can vary.

Not sure what your budget is....but we like the Sagamore, The Delano and the Shore Club...all ocean front, on the beach....trendy, hip, good pool scenes....the Raliegh also has a great pool and sand bar .....the Lowes is nice but it is much larger than some of the other properties. The Hotel Victor is a scene day and night, nice but small pool on the second floor that overlooks the beach....gets very loud on weekend tho....DJ until the wee hours...on Ocean Drive, so you do need to cross the street through Lummus Park...they do offer loungers and towels beach front at no cost. I do not believe the Tides is complete either...walked by the other night and didn%26#39;t even to think to look but....
