Local music in Key West

We just got back from our first trip to Key West and I had to write a short post and let everyone know about the amazing George Victory that we saw at Irish Kevin%26#39;s. For anyone that is a true fan of really good guitar work, (more Esteban not so much Eddie Van Halen) you really need to check out George. We stopped at Irish Kevin%26#39;s for a cocktail one afternnon when George was playing and we ended up staying the rest of the show. He was absolutely amazing. He did a rendition of Hotel California that lasted like 8-9 minutes, just incredible. Not only did I tip him $20 but we went to see him a few days later before we left. I saw that he does play one or two different bars, so ask around and check him out, you won%26#39;t be disappointed.

Local music in Key West

';Mile Marker 24'; band with Henry Livingston is a very talented band with great performers. Henry is the lead singer %26amp; your mood will be positive %26amp; tropical as soon as you%26#39;ve heard their first song! Their website to hear their music, or buy their new CD %26amp; clothing, hats etc. is

www.milemarker24.com.

They%26#39;re playing this Sunday in Key West at 1:30 P.M. at Dante%26#39;s.

Two weeks ago they played at Mangrove Mamma%26#39;s Restaurant/Bar in Sugarloaf Key for their new CD release party, which was fantastic!

If he%26#39;s remotely like Esteban, I%26#39;ll go but I hate being forced to be entertaining, and that seems to be IK%26#39;s ';M.O.';. Like BK and every other local, I stay off Duval, but I sure do like Esteban, shame he%26#39;s such a marketing machine and not a guitar player.

I meant to type that the talented Howard Livingston is the lead singer of the band Mile Marker24. The entire band is incredibly talented %26amp; are wonderful performers... to get you in the tropical island mood, %26amp; ready for a sunset sail!

another dated thread.......

But as long as the topic floated to the surface...for whatever reason...let me pose this question. Is there somewhere to look to find out who%26#39;s playing where, and when?

I was trying to locate Caffeine Carl, and thought he did late night Sundays at the Bull..nope. Other than randomly surfing the individual bar web sites and hoping they%26#39;re up to date on their entertainment calendar, where do you go? Or is there a place to look, like maybe an ';entertainment'; section of a paper?

you think trying to find live music in key west is hard; just try it in orlando or kissimee; a virtual rock an roll desert for sure !!

The entertainment section of the newspaper is called Paradise and it%26#39;s in the paper on Thursday. It%26#39;s also in all the free paper boxes around town. It shouldn%26#39;t be hard to find one and see who is playing where.

Limey

But nothing on line except going to the individual bar or entertainer web pages?

http://www.kwtn.com/

They are a pretty complete section.
