Sanford airport

Hi all,

We have always flown into Orlando Intl on previous trips but will be arriving/departing Sanford this time.

How does Sanford compare?

What is it like for departures - restaurants/shops etc?

thanks

Sanford airport

cannot give you a comparison as we have allways flown into Sanford and it has been fine never any long hold ups with Homeland, hire cars just yards outside the exit easy access to I4

On departure it is adequate we normally take advantage of the palm house which is very comfortable and a bit of a haven if the departure lounge is busy

I do not think you will have any problems

Sanford airport

Hi

We have flown into both Sanford %26amp; Orlando %26amp; i have to say i prefer Sanford. Its a much smaller airport, there is no messing with luggage like collecting it then putting it on another conveyor to another part of the airport while you get the shuttle. When you collect it off the carousel thats it you can leave the airport. There is a fairly good size duty free, a few restaurants, a newsagents %26amp; a bar. We have opted to fly into Sanford this year rather than into Orlando.

Regards

Higgy

i found sanford fine no problems arriving or departing, it is a small airport compared to manchester were we fly from

don%26#39;t worry you will be fine and wonder why you never used the airport before

I to have flown to both, Sanford is much easier and although its a bit further I think its quicker, like the other poster said no messing about collecting your luggage twice.

Has a cafe in departures, burgers fries hotdogs sandwiches etc. nothing special like most airports.

Thankyou all for your replies. It does sound alot easier than Orlando Intl.

To Mj6 - the reason for not using Sanford before was because we have always used Virgin and BA and they always fly into Orlando Intl. It wasn%26#39;t out of preference.

Bye for now.

Even though Sanford is further away, I prefer it to Orlando Int.

Its a smaller airport and you will be collecting your car quicker than if you were in Int. airport.

I would recomend the Palm lounge, but the normal departure area is nice enough. Plenty of shops and restaurants.

Do you have to pre-book the %26#39;Palm lounge%26#39;? If so can we do this before we go or do you do it when you arrive for when you depart? How much does it cost?

All info greatfully recieved.

Hi. Maybe our flights have always been at a weird time when leaving Sandford (8.00pm) but have found the one cafe has cold, expensive fast food and no-one is interested in serving you. The airport itself is great and speedy though.

To MatthewSalford-

Who have you booked with? If it is TCD, you can prebook and it costs around 拢8 per person. I%26#39;m not sure if you HAVE to prebook though.

Sanford is far better on arrivals and departures. If you are with Travel City then pre book Free Time. When you get to the airport all you have to do is go through Passport Control, and with us it took five minutes.

However, beware any males with new passports, you will more than likely be pulled in by American passport control for a grilling. It wasn%26#39;t that bad, as their officers are for more polite than ours, and I did get to miss standing around the baggage carousell.
