Siesta Key or Captiva for family with teens

Looking for spring break 2008. Any opinion on which location would be better for a family with a17yr old girl who will probably be bringing a friend? Been to Captiva- just to the beach for a day while visiting Sanibel and it was great . Looking for walkable areas and stuff for the girls to do- although the beach is the main draw at both. Condo locations or ideas close to restaurants and shops so we don%26#39;t have to drive everywhere?

Siesta Key or Captiva for family with teens

I would recommend the Lido Beach Resort on Lido Key. Perfect for a 17 year old with friend. Great beach resort with a free shuttle or a long walk to St. Armands Circle for shopping, dining and people watching. www.lidobeachresort.com

If you want Siesta Key, I would advise something close to Siesta Village for shops and places to eat. www.siestakeychamber.com

or

www.vrbo.com for condos by owner

www.siesta4rent.com for condos

Much more to do here for teens. Be aware thast places fill up very ealry for spring break. Some people reserve a year in advance.

Siesta Key or Captiva for family with teens

I have been to both and I would vote for Siesta Key for teens vs Captiva - unless you were to stay at South Seas Resort, since they at least have grounds to walk around. I have read however, on other boards that it is not as nice as it used to be. We haven%26#39;t stayed there for several years, so I can%26#39;t give an honest opinion on accomodations, but wouldn%26#39;t want to be either place without a car.

Siesta is nice, and my girls (older) love to boy watch, but you do need a car for shopping or dining out.

I agree. Siesta Key or Lido Key.
