Despite some user comments, I have always used this hotel situated in the airport concourse as it is convenient for early morning departures out of MIA. However, is there a local who knows ROUGHLY when this hotel is due to re-open after the current renovations ? The hotel web site is not a great help.

I just called the hotel. They are actually open right now. They are just renovating their fitness/pool area so only those areas are closed. When I talked to the front desk staff, they actually told me that they never plan to reopen the pool/fitness area. Have a great trip!

I just called the hotel again and got some more information. Yes, the outdoor restaurant by the pool is also closed. This time, the staff told me that they do plan on reopening the 8th floor sometime in the future, but probably not until 2009 or 2010. So, basically, it is anyone%26#39;s guess when or if it will reopen.
Thank you travelingmerry, so we have to find another place to wait for our flight. It was already closed in May, but I thought it might be only temperary. It%26#39;s always a problem with late flights, as you have to check out of the hotel and can go nowhere in the time until check-in.

TravelingMerry...do you have advice as to the least expensive way to book the MIA hotel? Have you had experience with Orbitz or Expedia with this hotel? The reservationist at the hotel says they will not match lower prices one may find on the web.
