What's the weather like this time of year??

We have NEVER beeen to Destine and are REALLY excited to check it out! Unfortunately, we opted to postponed our trip originally set for Sept 19-23rd d/t chances of thunderstorms EVERYDAY that we were going to be there. Trying to set new plans...does anyone know what the weather typically is like there during late Sept. thru maybe mid Oct.? Does it normally rain there? We would like to enjoy some HOT weather! Thanks!!!!

I think the forecast for Destin is ALWAYS chance of thunderstorms. ALL year, EVERY day.

At least it is when we go down in the summer.

But, we%26#39;ve never had bad weather.

In other words, ignore the forecast and go, girl.

September is a great time to go.

We just got back.

It was somewhat rainy on Thurs %26amp; Fri, however Sat %26amp; Sun were perfect.

Thanks for the helpful info and quick response! I think we%26#39;ll head out on the 26th - Oct. 1st. Looking forward to a vacation!!! Any suggestions on a great place to stay on the beach? (We would prefer a 1 BR condo.)

Heather, we generally are riddled with hurricanes in September and October.

You should bring all the basic necessary survival needs because the stores down here will be sold out.

Heather, I found this educational video regarding hurricanes. You should watch it as to be prepared.

Heather,

Okae is right - thunderstorms are usually forecast everyday in the summer - one really cannot predict. I was down there in June and thunderstorms were predicted everyday and it did not rain once - they seemed to always be north of the beach.

Yes, it%26#39;s true. We have thunderstorms forcast every day in Destin. Thunderstorms are a large part of hurricanes. In fact, in the next few days, we have a huge tropical system coming our way.

Of course 110 mph winds don%26#39;t help much either.

Add that one to the list ... Semco ....Ouch !

Well, looks like we are going to have a little blow...

See, What did I tell you?
