what do others do?

When we go on 12th Oct most of the parks close around 6/7pm.

So i would like to know what do you do when you leave the parks ?

How do you fill your evenings or are you too tired and just go back to chill in your hotel room?

We are staying at the QIP and will not have a car, not afraid to jump on a bus/catch a taxi.

What do you reccommend?

Thanks Angie

P.S got 3 kids 10,13,16

what do others do?

been to florida a total of eight times now i have no kids but find a day in the theme parks tiring and usually do nothing in the evenings, except have a little drink in the hotel room, or if the weather is good come back to the hotel and have a lie around the pool or something like that, if you are staying on or near i drive why not take a walk there, plenty of shops and restaurants to keep you amused. im only 26 but really find a day in the theme parks tires me out!!!!

It will be warm enough for you to enjoy the pool in the evening (soft southerners wont understand). Get a cool box from I think Publis up the road rom you hotel, put your coke wine and beer in there, fill it with ice from the hotel ice machine and sit at the pool and relax.

If you are relying on Mears or shuttle buses, your time will be restricted but there is plenty to do around your hotel and you can use the I trolley to get from one end of I drive to the other.

You can get the trolley to Premium Outlet Malls and spend an evening there.

In relation to your question about Old Town IMHO, its not worth the effort unless you have a car. there is a fair at the top end of I Drive someone will know exactly where that has better rides.

I know this is a daft ? but will it not be dark at that time of night?

Hi Angie

Look here and this%26#39;ll give you an idea based on previous years

it probablywill be dark but if you are by the pool havin a drink or whatever all the pool area will be lit up im sure

you will be fine at the QIP there is the mini golf across the road, also pointe orlando which as a cinema and there is a few places to eat

you could also get a cab to city walk

The pool areas are usually floodlit, ours stayed open untill midnight. With you staying on I-drive, I suggest you have your evening meal after the parks have closed. Freshen up at your hotel then decide where you want to eat and either walk or catch the I-trolly to the restaurant. we used to play a lot of crazy, ( mini ) golf, or go to the cinema, there is a new complex at Pointe Orlando I believe, which isn%26#39;t too far from you. Whatever you decide to do, have a great time

Thanks guys as always. Am already trying to persuade the hubby to book up for next year. So much to do, so little time.

Angie

Stayed at QIP a few years ago when daughters were 11 and 14. Point Orlando was not there yet, but now sounds fun. We also ate at the Subway across and a few blocks down, and also saw Ripleys museum. I thought it would be boring but they both liked it and we had to go to the one in New orleans this past summer that they really lliked too. Also have seen since then all tthe mini golfs in area. We also swam in pool .Have fun.

Hi angie

I dont know what your families eating habits are, but a lot of people myself included, like to have a hearty breakfast before hitting the parks, then a light lunch in the parks (talking sandwich here or the famous turkey legs) then wash n brush-up in hotel before heading out for a decent evening meal, and if i can tie in a few beers all the better.

But yes, on i.drive youve got two cinemas, regal at pointe and one at festival bay, floodlit crazy golf, a small fairground at the top of i.drive (suggest buying the kids a wrist band for the go carts/game consoles, works out a lot cheaper, pubs... the george and dragon usually has a chanter on outside in the garden area, o%26#39;shucks has karaoke and pool tables, shops, ripleys, titanic, wonderworks, etc etc this is all on i.drive, and you can use the trolly or lynx

I think you will find something for everyone, without having to stray too far. enjoy it though, because on your next visit, after youve gotton your bearings, you wont want to do half of this, the relaxing around the pool will appeal more.
