hi, im about to venture to orlando for the first time for a friend%26#39;s wedding so not a place id have picked are there plenty of bars, clubs to enjoy or am i going to be disappointed??

You won%26#39;t have a problem finding places to have a drink. Downtown Orlando, Downtown Disney, Disney%26#39;s Boardwalk, Universal Citywalk, just to name a few places!

thanks very much being in our mid 30%26#39;s and having no children i thought we would be at a loose end

There%26#39;s not bars and clubs in abundance as we have here. Depends where you are staying but you won%26#39;t see many pubs on the street, mainly in %26#39;entertainment zones%26#39; like Downtown Disney.

If you check out Orlando.nightguide.com and then go to Downtown Orlando, it will give a list of bars in the Church Street area. This is where my 27yr old daughter that lives there goes. This will be away from all the tourist areas.

is it safe enough for tourists to venture off the beaten track so to speak???

As long as you stay within the Church Street area you should be fine. As with any downtown area there are some areas I wouldn%26#39;t go to. We go to a Gelato place in downtown Orlando when we%26#39;re there and walk around and feel perfectly safe.
