childrens portions for adults

If I ever wanted to order something from the childrens menu in disney and elsewhere would this be ok? Would I look really cheap?

I just dont like huge meals.

Most children%26#39;s menus have age restrictions printed on them prohibiting adults from ordering off them. I usually find a yummy appetizer and a side salad or bowl of soup to go with it if I am not in the mood for a full portion.

We found most kids menus were quite limited in choice- they are not just smaller portions of adult dishes.

Ask for a smaller portion when ordering or take what you don;t eat home with you. Or could you not share a meal.?

I usually get a starter and a salad with no dessert.

I can%26#39;t speak for inside Disney, but speaking from my experiences with restaurants in the States, most servers don%26#39;t care if you do that. It really depends on how ';upscale'; the place is. The more expensive, the less flexible they are.

I am willing to bet sit-down restaurants at Disney fit into the ';less flexible'; category. You could split a meal but some restaurants charge extra.

Outside of Disney, unless it%26#39;s a fancy place, you should be fine. It really depends on the server, so just be nice! :)

But I agree...portions are WAY too big here. It%26#39;s ridiculous. But that%26#39;s what people want so that%26#39;s what people get (along with a huge waistline).

When you reach my age you can get the senior citizens meals there allways small portions ,The must think that as you get older your appetite goes .

Table service restaurants will not let you order from a childrens menu if you are an adult-certainly you can order a childrens meal from a counter service resturant or a Mcdonalds Happy meal. Disney only allows actual children to order from their childrens menu-but you can order 2 appetizers or soup and salad. Some restaurants have a minumum order so just check before you go.

for menus look at www.allears.net

At counter service restaurants you should have no problem getting a childrens meal, sit down restaurants will be a no go. Like a poster stated before, the childrens menu at the counter service or ';express'; restaurants is VERY limited.

Read the menu%26#39;s from the mentioned site and many times an appetizer or ';starter'; will do the trick for your light meal.

When outside of disney properties if you are concerned about food portions at sit down restaurants, do not hesitate to ask your server if you can get a half portion for your entree. You will be surprised that many do will do this for you.
