Two weeks from this evening...

I board the big bird for a night flight to Ft. Lauderdale and, eventually, Key West. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by and am looking so forward to this trip it%26#39;s not even funny. Got a quasi itinerary all worked out, based in good part on the suggestions I got here.

I know there was talk of some kind of informal moonlight kayak tour on Sunday the 23rd (as the FM is on Christmas Eve, and up in KL where I am staying, there aren%26#39;t any going that I know of due to the holiday). If that is still a possibility, count me most definitley in. I%26#39;m at Duval House and will be at the Board Meeting on the 21st after the Margaritaville tour. Just won%26#39;t have a car (till I leave for KL).

I know, the days are less but the time seems more! It%26#39;s supposed to rain here all through the weekend (on our boat parade, too), so I have KW dreaming bad. Never mind, soon enough :-)

To think I first got the bug to go years ago---when I worked for a small mail order company as a summer job----and had to call a customer in Big Pine Key. Don%26#39;t know how but the parrot managed to knock the phone off the hook (no cells then) and squawk into it before its owner grabbed the receiver.

Methinks, ';THIS is a place I MUST visit!';

And now, I will! I can tell a more detailed version of the parrot and the phone in KW ;-) It was hilarious. Maybe someone knows the guilty bird!

Hmmmm, there was a bird breeder up in Big Pine a few years ago and she had lots of Macaws.
