Family friendly restaurants

We will be spending a month in Cape Coral and are looking for any advice on kid friendly restaurants. Our children are 6 and 2 and have very little interest in waiting or even eating at times. Are there any beachside restaurants or others that will offer entertainment for the little ones?

Family friendly restaurants

I don%26#39;t know of any beachfront restaurants in CC as it%26#39;s on the bay and really doesn%26#39;t have any beach to speak of. The various waffle and pancake houses would probably be best for the kids. If you get to Sanibel, try Island Cow, Cheeburger Cheeburger, or Grandma Dot%26#39;s. All have quick service, though Island Cow can get a bit slow when crowded. It is a very family friendly place.

My grandparents are from Cape Coral... what a cute little town. What takes you to Cape Coral? Anyways, if you like Mexican, check out Iguana Mia%26#39;s... mmmm, and fun.

We were in Cape coral last March and are headed back there in just a couple of days. I agree, Iguana Mia is fantastic Mexican.

we live in the cape 4 years and disagree that Iquna mia is a good reataurant!! the food is lousy and they have the gall to put a 20%gratuity on you bill and the service is lousy!!! we pay a gratuity for service not because it is the norm we will never eat again at this reatautant!!! we went 5 times to give them the benifit of the doubt.

I don%26#39;t have a lot of dining experience in the cape but if you go to MenuVenueSWFL.com and do a search for restaurants in Cape Coral and you will have a list of all the restaurants.

Hope I%26#39;ve helped!

Cheers

The only beach in Cape Coral is at the yacht club and I hesitate to all it a beach at all. They do have bbq%26#39;s if you want to bring your own food to cook or a snack bar that serves basic burgers, hotdogs etc. The best thing about the Yacht Club is the monthly Sunset Toast (ala Key West) on the First Wednesday of every month. Fun thing for families plus quite a few table vendors selling arts and crafts. I guess its not advertised too well though, as I lived in the Cape for 3 years before I even heard of it :)

Mel%26#39;s Diner on Pine Island Road just west of Del Prado is pretty family friendly and this newly opened location has a fab updated menu!

Leapin Lizards on Cape Coral Parkway just east of Del Prado is also good for groups and/or families. Our kids love it and a fun atmosphere. It gets a little rowdy later on in the evening - a pretty active bar and grill.

Jimbos on Del Prado (just north of Cape Coral Parkway) is also a family friendly place that has pretty decent seafood.

There are also loads of hispanic resturants that are excellent, depending on your taste.

Enjoy your trip!

I almost forgot:

Don%26#39;t miss Matlacha when you%26#39;re in town. There are several restuarants along Pine Island Road that are family friendly and have excellent SUPER fresh seafood. If you go during the day there is several boutiques and stores that feature local artists.

There are also fish markets where you can buy fresh gulf shrimp and grouper to grill at home at way-below-grocery-store prices. Yum! It is well worth the drive waaaaay down Pine Island Road.

My 7 yr old and I went to Cape Coral in July for 2 weeks and there are several restaurants .. Outback Steakhouse, Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut .. all on DelPrado (Outback is way down on DelPrado).
