Advice Needed - FUN Snorkel Trip w/ Cocktails & Music ??????

Two single chicks heading to Key West mid-October for the first time to celebrate being alive for 40 years -- trying to pick the most FUN snorkel trip (FUN = cocktails on the return trip, music, sense of humor). Seen so many advertisements, hard to separate one from the other (looks like any place you actually snorkel will be fabulous, especially for 1st-timers -- true?). Looking for suggestions from anyone who%26#39;s ';been there, done that'; to help us pick the best adventure (suggestions on which charters to avoid just as helpful as which charter to book). Many thanks!!!

Hey DaMeter:

We were in KW several weeks ago %26amp; were pleasantly surprised with Sunset Charters. We also were overwhelmed w/ choices

and found Sunset to be exactly what we wanted. We took the all day charter ($99/pp) and had a blast. Left the Bight around 10am

%26amp; returned about 5pm. Took us approx. 5 miles out and anchored there. They had a multitude of activities: snorkeling, kayaking, skiing/kneeboarding, waverunners, etc. The ship was roomy (we lucked out and only had 12 people on board -- ship can hold up to 80). Staff looks out for you and is there to help with any problem you have. We wore ourselves out, came back to the boat to ';chill';,

have a drink and then back out. There%26#39;s fun ';tropical'; music playing on the boat, and they do serve ';cocktails'; on the way back in. You

can have a drink sooner, but they cut you off from the water activities at that point. We also went on their sunset cruise the following night since we got $10. for being previous guests. We%26#39;d go again in a minute! Have a great time!

Sebago has gotten good reviews lately and I believe you can ';upgrade'; to cocktails from beer/wine for a fee.

There are 2 levels of upgrades on the Sebago sunset sail, one Is $10.00 and one is $20.00, but I%26#39;ll be hanged if I can recall the difference.

The simple snorkeling trips, either morning or afternoon, don%26#39;t tend to include cocktails or live music. They generally serve beer or wine after snorkeling. There are at least two sunset sails that provide cocktails and live music; the Danger Charters Wind and Wine and the Fury Commotion on the Ocean.

For a real treat, look into either the Danger Charters or Sebago Island T%26#39;Ing all-day trip. They include breakfast, one fruit the other scrambled eggs, snorkel, great lunch, then a kayak trip around a mangrove ';island.'; Then more fun on the trip back to Key West. They are approx $90.00 and $80.00 / person respectively and are IMO the most fun for a day on the island.

Sebago is offering a free sunset sail if you book the Island T%26#39;ing. This saves about $45.00 / person. Danger goes out every day. Sebago three times / week.

No-one to avoid.

I went on one of the Sebago Island T%26#39;ing trips this week and highly recommend it. They take you out for 1 hour of snorkeling on the coral reef, 1 hour of kayaking in shallow clear water, feed you buffett style and provide draft beer and homemade sangria. Very cool laid back captain and crew and they played good music throughout the trip.

(Ironic ain%26#39;t it? rdouble did a double post... Too easy to hit the %26#39;Submit%26#39; button twice.) :-)

As a comparison, you can also do the Danger Charters all-day trip. Same strategy but on a different boat, and I think the area they take you to snorkel is the best.
