I am staying at Comfort Inn on Clark Rd, and was wondering if anyone knew of any restaraunts on this strip of Clark Rd and what the closet beach would be for me to get to? Also is there any nightclubs here to meet women,(25-40 yr old) and is the beach a good place to meet girls here or not? Thanks for your time. Have a pleasent day.

You are close to I-75, which means you are approximately 7 miles from the beach. The good news is that you are close to one of the most beautiful beaches in the US-Siesta Key Beach. It was voted something like the #1 or #2 best sand (white, powdery). Water is blue and warm. You%26#39;ll love it. You just take Clark Road (the name changes as you get closer to the beach to Stickney Point Road) all the way west until you get to the bridge. Cross the bridge, turn right at the dead end. Go north a few miles. There will be a fork in the road, veer left. Siesta Key Public Parking Lot is on the left.

(Go to Siesta Key Public Beach because it is the prettiest of the three on this link.)

There are lots of regular restaurants on Clark, nothing fancy. There is a Gecko%26#39;s Grill and Pub for some great greasy bar food (homemade potato chips) and trivia on certain nights, but not really a place to meet girls.

How old are you? I will assume you are in your 20%26#39;s. If so, go to Siesta Key Village to meet women and party. There are about 5 outdoor bars there. If you are in your 20%26#39;s, go to the Daquiri Deck.

If you are in your 30%26#39;s go to SKOB (stands for Siesta Key Oyster Bar). These are bars and not dance clubs. There are other fun places in the same vicinity there.

To dance, there is the Beach Club with a live 80%26#39;s band on Saturday nights. Still a beachy atmosphere.

The Gator Club downtown is fun. They also have live music. There are a lot of upscale restaurants downtown.

Do you like beer? Just to drink good beer and eat good bar food, the only microbrewery in town is just south of the intersection of Stickney Point Road (remember, that%26#39;s Clark Rd) and Us 41 near the bridge over to Siesta Key, but on the mainland side. It%26#39;s called the Sarasota Brewing Company. My husband, a beer lover, loves it, and I love their onion strings and cheese sticks. The biggest cheese sticks I have ever seen in my life, and the outside coating is different than normal. But I digress...

I am assuming you are in your 20%26#39;s or early 30%26#39;s so check out the links, especially if I%26#39;m wrong.

Can%26#39;t answer if you can meet girls at the beach. This is not like Cancun or anything. A lot of families are here, but the bars in Siesta Key at night are packed with young people.

I should add that the Sarasota Brewing Company is also a sports bar. They have tons of TV%26#39;s playing sports there, so if you like beer and sports, that is the place for you!

what a post! good answers...LOL. you should be a ';local expert';!

Just to add to the list of restaurants on Clark Road: Applebee%26#39;s-south side of road, a bit west of hotel, Valentino%26#39;s (Italian--north side of clark, a bit more west), Wild Buffalo Wings (sports bar too, same location as Valentino%26#39;s), Atlanta Bread Company (same location again), Moe%26#39;s (mexican sort of fast food--same location), millie%26#39;s and serving spoon for breakfast or lunch, tandoor for Indian food, new gelato place next to Moe%26#39;s,hooter%26#39;s (sounds like you might like that) near stickney point road (same as clark) and US41.

The beach is only 15 min from yoru hotel. The Country Inn and Suites across the street from your hotel offers free hot breakfast daily....(for hotel patrons).
